Sun Hero Initiative

Dr. Amy Brodsky is a nationally recognized advocate for sun safety and the founder of the Sun Hero™ program, a groundbreaking initiative that teaches children the importance of daily sun protection through engaging, superhero-themed education. Her passion for prevention led her to help author and advocate for the Sun-Safe Schools Act (Sunucate), a bill passed in Congress to support sun protection policies in schools across the country. She also spearheaded two clinical studies in collaboration with Northwestern University and Advocate Children’s Hospital, demonstrating that children are more likely to wear sun-protective clothing when it is made accessible. Dr. Brodsky launched the first Sun Safety Day at Wrigley Field in 2012, an annual event that has since expanded to stadiums across the U.S., including the Mets, Yankees, and Padres. Through these efforts and the Sun Hero™ program—developed in partnership with leading skincare brands—Dr. Brodsky continues to drive a national movement toward lifelong, preventative skincare habits starting in childhood. Visit the Sun Hero™ website to learn more.
